Purple Lotus Temple
Temple location
Purple Lotus Temple is located in Fremont, California, approximately a 30-minute drive from San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Silicon Valley. The temple is situated near the Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area, a 539-acre parkland featuring 350 acres of lakes. The area offers various leisure activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, and nature viewing, with residential neighborhoods located to the east of the temple.
Construction milstones
In May 1999, the temple successfully purchased land for construction. After eleven years of navigating various public offices and external briefings, we officially obtained the building license in November 2011. Despite the complexities of this process, our firm intention remained unchanged. By March 2017, hardware construction was completed. We thank to sponsorship and support from around the world. Finally, in November 2020, the temple received the necessary permits from the City of Fremont, California, to begin operations.

Additionally, students participate in daily morning meditation and are taught Buddhist practices as part of their education.
